This gun shelled their position every time we were working on fixing roads or bridges throughout France & Germany right to the end of the war. A nasty piece.  This is a picture of the largest
and most deadly German tank. The "Tiger Tank".
You can imagine the fright as they drove around a corner to come face to face with this monster! They all jumped out of the truck without stopping and headed to the trees. When nothing happened they investigated and the tank was unmanned. Tank crew all dead. They got back into the truck and took the picture thru the windshield. |
