| 9/11/2021 | WOW! I have to go back to 2004 to find 2 days in a row I worked on this site! Slowly going thru the pages. Worked on a few pages with a lot of links and got rid of so many old broken links. Baby steps is what it is going to take. Once I verify and update the non picture pages, I will then start redoing the picture pages, and combining pages to make the site a lot less pages, and easier to navigate. I have removed the outdated webrings pages and links. |
| 9/12/2021 | Combined reference pages, made 3 into 1. Started learning HTML 5.0. When I first wrote this site, it was before the last 2 standards, so some things did not work, some people could not view it without issues, so now as I go, I have to rewrite all 335+ pages. So this is going to be very time consuming, and slow. But worth it when it is done. I hope to be able to put in a little higher quality pictures, as when I created this site, everyone was on very slow dial-up connections. This also means I can combine some pages so there will be many less pages to navigate! Maybe I can get down to 250 pages! Time will tell! The first page changed over to HTML 5 is the opening/welcome page.6 hours work to learn how to do it right and make it happen. The rest should be quicker I would hope. |

Worked on converting all 1000+ pictures to a little higher
resolution. I wish I was able to get all the photo's again. I would
scan them in VERY high resolution. Back in the late 90's when I
started this site, the average monitor resolution was increasing to
800x600 & a few people have 1024x768 resolutions! In today's
monitors 1024x768 is very low resolution! Also back then people have
extremely SLOW connections to the internet. There was no DSL. There
where no Cable, Fiber or Satellite connections to the internet! So
to have a website this large, I had to make photo's very LOW
resolution, and small, or people would never bother with the site. So now, I have about doubled the resolution of the pictures, and as I rebuild one section at a time, I will be uploading the better photo's. This is going to be a very long process. This site was built with love and pride, and now I am going to rebuild it with the utmost respect for the members and their families of the 150th! 3 hours to redo the decorations page. So as I go, it should be quicker. |
| 9/16/2021 - 9/21/2021 | I am working on all the pages 1 at a time. I have converted more pages (like this one) over to HTML 5 and cleaned them up. I will be doing this daily for a while. As something major changes, I will post it. I have now gotten 12 pages completely cleaned up and converted. A couple more tough ones, and it should start to go much quicker. |
| 9/22/2021 - 9/26/2021 | I have completed some complex pages.I also completed one full section. Basic Training is now completely converted. It has much clearer pictures now. 100 pictures down, 1000 to go LOL! I will keep doing one section at a time, and will post here as it is completed. |

| 10/15/2021 | I have started back on the next section of Letters, Papers & Cards. It is 29 pages to be edited! It will take some time to get thru this section. One page so far has taken me 6 hours to get done! Trying hard to find one little error in the coding of it. Fortunately most of the pages will be much easier and quicker! |
| 10/31/2021 | I have finished that section finally! That was a lot of time! I managed to combined a few pages also. Redid the Miscellaneous page with higher resolution pictures & combined 2 pages into 1. |
| 11/7/2021 & 12/5/2021 | Redid the pages on the New 150th. Combined many. The site is now down to about 315 pages from 335 when I started, without removing anything. 4 weeks later it is down to 270 pages! |
| 11/8/2021 - 11/11/2021 | Redid the P-T-A section, where the pictures are easy to see now! Also redid the reports section! I am happy, the site is starting to show the improvements! I just wish the men of the outfit were alive to see the improvements! |
| 11/11/2021 - 11/17/2021 | HUGE section done! Rivers Crossed! Showing many of the bridges the men built, commendations for them, and stories about them! This was quite a lot of work & time! I am going to take a break from the website for a few days or a week or so to get other things done I need to! Enjoy the new quality images! |

| 11/27/2021 | WOW! Just completed the troops section! Many less pages, just as many pictures, and all much larger and better quality! Not many large sections left to do. Over 1/2 the site is completed finally :) |

| 12/1/2021 & 12/5/2021 | Moved most of the pictures sitting in the "New Section" of unsorted pictures to where they belonged. Planes, Trucks, Frontlines, Rivers Crossed and Company B. I also created a new page called Carnage and moved pictures there. |
| 12/2/2021 | I have moved hosting providers. This is the company that has all this information on their servers for me. The site was at one place most of the past 22 years. Lets hope this new provider has the reliability the old one used to have. Also seeing I am the one who has to pay for it, I need to keep it reasonably priced. For those who do not understand, nothing is free LOL! I also am NOT complaining! I am so proud to still want the world to know the great thing these men did for our country! |
| 12/6/2021 | First time for new pictures & new section in years. It is high resolution aerial views of Paris France on September 4, 1944, 10 Days after Germany forces garrisoned there surrendered! Also I have gathered together 100's of pictures from the war I scanned in a couple years ago. I need to work on them, editing them, and building pages for them and putting them online. online. I also added a counter to the site for the first time in 15 years. They kept on vanishing making it hard to keep track of the count, so I gave up for a long time! But I would like to see how many people are coming to the site. |
| 12/7/2021 - 12/12/2021 | I have finished the reunions section. This is the last section
that needed to be updated! So it has been 3 months of continuous
work to update this website. I took this site from 335 pages down to
265 pages. I removed duplicate & poor photo's, mostly from the
reunion section. Now I need to do some more behind the scenes housekeeping to get this site more visible again. We used to have tons of visitors, and it has dwindled off due to the out dated layout this site had. Be sure to check back though, as once I get the housekeeping done, I will be adding more. |
